June 30th- July 6th

We welcome IFMA delegates to Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatchewan for an interesting and informative Agricultural tour of Southern Saskatchewan. Our tour is designed to provide a cross sectional look at Saskatchewan, with a mix of nature, history, culture, and of course, agriculture.

The Pre-Tour starts June 30, 2024, we recommend you arrive June 29th in Regina, SK at the latest if you wish to attend the full Pre-tour. Our planning committee is still confirming the details of June 30th and July 1st, however, they will be based out of Regina, SK.

July 1st is Canada Day, so do not be afraid to dress in red and white, or wear your Canadian Tuxedo (sporting denim on the top and bottom).

July 1 - Monday

Canada Day

For those interested, Richard Gray (Tour Guide) will organize a scenic Nature Tour in surrounding areas east of Regina, including a small hike to Buffalo rubbing stone and a drive through Qu’Appelle Valley, returning later in the day to Regina for some Canada Day Celebrations and dinner. 

July 2 - Tuesday

Trip to Indian Head, SK

A bus will pick you up from your hotel in Regina for the first of two day trips to the Indian Head area east of Regina.  July 2nd will have a Zero Tillage theme and include IHARF (Indian Head Agricultural Research Foundation), Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, as well as Halford Family Farm and the Gray Family Farm (GPS Ltd). Last night spent in your Regina hotel room.

July 3 - Wednesday

2nd Day Trip to Indian Head, SK

You will check out of the hotel in Regina. Before heading to Moose Jaw for the evening, you will visit: Delage Farms, The Bell Barn, Seedmaster (tentative) or Young’s Equipmente(tentative), before heading to Moose Jaw for the evening. 

July 4 - Thursday

Travel West

On Thursday we will check out of the hotel in Moose Jaw, and head west to Swift Current. The plan is to visit to a seed farm and special crop processing facility, ending the day with dinner and a tour of a Craft Brewery. More details to come

July 5 - Friday

Head North

As we depart from Swift Current, we will start to head North, inching ourselves closer to Saskatoon for the IFMA 24 conference. On Friday, we will visit Hursh Farms at Cabri, SK (Pulse Farm) with a possible visit to a Hutterite Colony and the Great Sand Hills.  We will be staying the night in Kindersley, SK. 

July 6 - Saturday

Drive to Saskatoon

On our drive to Saskatoon to get you settled into your hotel for the coming week, there are plenty of great locations to hit and little time to fit it in. There are tentative visits planned for an inland grain terminal, ethanol plant, and a grain farm.
